This park was built around a centerpiece that displays a steel beam remnant from the wreckage of the September 11, 2001 attack on the twin towers of the New York City World Trade Center.  The artifact is one of only four from Ground Zero. The park itself was designed with the intention to provide a serene environment for contemplation and remembrance.

The park includes a shallow reflection pool with waterfalls, flagpoles flying the flag of the United States of America, the Arizona State Flag, the GB Fire Dept Flag, and a POW-MIA Flag. The park has seating along the stacked stone walls that accent the artifact display and picnic tables. In 2016, the park was updated with the addition of sod, flowering plants and additional shaded areas.

The Town of Gila Bend holds a 9/11 ceremony at the park each year to honor those who's lives were cut short by the attacks, as well as the men and women emergency responders, and those who's lives were affected by the tragedy.
